Tree Surgeon London Jobs
Join London’s Largest, Friendliest Family-Run Tree Company
If you are tired of chasing invoices as a sub-contractor or working for small outfits where the gear is old and the pay is unreliable, it is time for a change. At our London tree company, we do things differently. We are one of the capital’s most established arboricultural firms, running 11 full teams daily. That scale gives us stability. It means we can offer you a proper career path, not just a day rate.
We pride ourselves on our standards, hold £10 million in insurance, and maintain CHAS, SIPP and ConstructionLine accreditations. But more importantly, we value and look after our staff. We are a friendly, hard-working bunch who look out for each other. We work hard, but we have a laugh doing it, and we make sure everyone gets home safe at the end of the day.
We Look After Our People
At London Tree Surgeons, we believe that if we look after our staff, they will look after our clients. We offer both PAYE and self-employment positions, giving you both the flexibility and financial security that can be so hard to find in this trade. No matter your position or employment type, we value all staff members equally and guarantee you’ll be paid fully, on time, no excuses.
We also believe you can’t do a professional job without professional kit. For PAYE roles, we can provide all your PPE and climbing kit, so you don’t have to spend your wages on equipment. We use top-of-the-range machinery, including modern wood chippers and stump grinders, and we are increasingly moving towards battery-powered chainsaws to protect your hearing and health.
On top of that, we are big on training and investing in our staff. We support all our arborists, tree surgeons and employees with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and help you gain new qualifications as you progress.

Frequently Asked Questions About Working For Us
Below, we answer some of the most frequently asked questions about working for London Tree Surgeons.
Do I need my own climbing kit?
No. We can provide high-quality climbing kits, ropes, and harnesses for our tree surgeons and arborists. We ensure all our equipment is LOLER-inspected every 6 months to keep you safe. If you prefer to use your own climbing equipment, it must meet the LOLER requirements stated above, and you must also provide proof of inspection every 6 months.
Is the tree work purely residential?
It is a healthy mix of residential and commercial tree work. Because we run 11 teams throughout London, we handle everything from small domestic pruning jobs in back gardens to large commercial site clearances and council contracts. This variety keeps the job interesting; one day, you might be shaping a magnolia, the next, you might be crane-dismantling a poplar on a construction site.
Do you offer training for apprentice tree surgeons?
Yes, we are always on the lookout for the next generation of London tree surgeons. If you are hardworking and have a genuine passion for trees, we can support you through your NPTC training and help you build a career in the industry. Reliability and attitude are more important to us than a CV full of certificates if you are just starting out.
